Happy Fourth of July!!!

We always do fireworks out in front of our house! This year was a really fun and exciting display! The kids always have a blast! I love fireworks! I'm so grateful to live in this wonderful country, and to have all the freedoms we enjoy. God bless America! I hope you all had a good Fourth of July too!

Firework Propelled Car Racing

Very Entertaining!
Our friends Greg and Erika invited us to watch a very unique and fun contest. Every Fourth a bunch of people get together and see who can launch their car the furthest using fireworks. Mostly they use flowers, because they are cheap and effective, but there were other fun variations. It was a lot of fun for the kids, and the winner went really far. They hold the event in a church parking lot, and try to have some safety measures in place so the cars dont go rocketing out into the spectators.
I'm glad we were able to see this fun contest! It really was a blast!

Greg, and his brother, launching their car.

Check out the amount of fire-power on some of those!

Field Trip to Bridal Veil Falls

We headed up to Bridal Veil Falls for a really fun field trip. The kids loved being able to splash in the cool water, and climb on the rocks. And it really isn't a very difficult hike (paved the whole way, and not to long...for preggo woman.) Plus my mom and dad came, and were a big help with the kids.
It sure was beautiful up there!

The Spash Pad

There is this super fun place in Highland where you can take your kids to splash around in what is like a simulated stream! It is a lot of fun, but can be pretty crowded. And the day we went, it got all windy and rainy, so we didn't stay as long and the kids didn't get soaked, but they still had a lot of fun. Eli and Scott came too, but I didn't really get any good pictures of them.....(lets face it, I'm doing my best just to get there and function. I'm actually getting to where pulling out the camera and getting some shots is good enough.)
But a really fun place! We are excited to go back some day!

The trampoline

We were given a trampoline by our wonderful neighbor, and the kids LOVE it. So far, no injuries, and hopefully there wont be any...ever (at least not serious ones.) But the other fun thing about a trampoline, is using it to camp out. The kids were super excited about this, but ended up in the house at about 11:30 p.m. We will have to try again....without the two youngest, and they will probably make it through the night (with Dad....of course).
We weren't to upset that it didn't work out, because Jared came down with an ear infection that night, and probably would have had to come in, himself, anyway. But I did get some cute pictures of them, while they were all excited about the fun adventure.

Our "Little Princess!"

Breanne was able to attend the Princess Festival this year! She LOVED it. It was such an amazing experience! The costumes were so elaborate, and the acting was fantastic. It was very believable that these were the actual princess. She got a T-shirt (that said, "I'm a true Princess.") and a book...with a story in front, and a place for autographs in the back! So we got a picture with every character, plus their autograph! (And we didn't have to wait in a two hour line for each of them...like you might have to at Disney Land!) Plus Breanne got to really interact with them. She got to go on a "quest", and do a treasure hunt. It was so much fun. I think I loved it about as much as she did!

Well, I took 89 pictures, so this is only a sample of some of the princesses and characters that we saw there. Enjoy....

Belle and the Beast

My princess, "kissing the frog."

Breanne loved these elephants, she thought it was fun to get in line and "march" with them.

The cast of Peter Pan plus the Mad Hatter and Alice.

Pocahontas

Our "Little Mermaid".

Jumping on the trampoline with Sleeping Beauty.

Ariel at the fountain! (She was Breanne's favorite.)

Prince Philip and Aurora (Sleeping Beauty)

Prince Charming...fitting Breanne with a "glass slipper." (So cute!)

The grand Carriage!

Breanne and the Prince's. (I think they belonged to Rapunzel and Snow White.)

Rapunzel

The "Evil Step Sisters"

The Princess and the Frog.

And of course....Cinderella and Prince Charming!
(Plus there were lots, lots more!)
So...way too much fun! And totally worth it! She can't wait to go next year! I'm just glad to let her love it while she is still in that "Princess phase." And I'm grateful that I have at least one littel princess, so that I can also enjoy all of this fun girly stuff!

The Teddy Bear Picnic!

Another Summer Field Trip....
We went to Cascade park and had a Teddy Bear Picnic. First we had lunch, then we played multiple "Bear" themed games. The kids all had a really fun time, and the weather was perfect! (Not to hot.)
